My Services
Dr. Henry B. Wolfe
Information Assurance is vital in today’s world which is driven by data and information. It is no longer something we can dismiss as only happening to others. The risks are very real and unless they are addressed in an informed way the results will be dramatic. I offer the results of a long and successful career as an ICT professional and a long, successful, and varied experience as an academic specializing in Information Assurance.
Why should you engage my services? To begin with this is about who I am and what I believe or stand for and whether those qualities are compatible with your professional style and business philosophy.
I am a man of honour and integrity who has demonstrated those qualities as well as being honest, forthright, and loyal. I am an Expert Witness (regarding surveillance techniques) in a high profile case currently being adjudicated in Auckland. I have taught law enforcement in New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore in the techniques of electronic forensics. When asked, I have advised the New Zealand Police on specific electronic forensic cases. I have advised the New Zealand Law Commission regarding a pending Bill for Parliament. I have addressed all of the New Zealand High Court Justices and additionally the nine Appeals Court Justices and the five Supreme Court Justices. I have also addressed the Australian Supreme and Federal Court judges. I held a Top Secret security clearance for a number of years as required by my employer.
For the past thirty-five years of my academic career, I have dedicated my life to, and still remain passionate about, Information Assurance – electronic forensics, mobile phone security and general computer security; including surveillance, cryptography, and audit (I have supervised 175 computer security audits). I believe in the human right to privacy and do all that I can to educate others to the constant assaults on their privacy and freedom. Privacy and freedom go hand in hand and by increasing people’s knowledge and understanding, my aim is to reduce the potential success of those kinds of assaults.
How will I accomplish whatever might be undertaken on your behalf will be grounded in logic, procedures and best practice, based on 60 years as an ICT professional and what I have learnt during that time. I have a strong, reliable, and disciplined work ethic and I have been unemployed a total of only 5 (five) days during the entire 60 years. I have a long track record of successful completions – whether that be programs designed and written, systems designed and managed, people managed, courses designed and mounted, forensic case involvement, and public addresses given (I’ve spoken at invitation in more than 25 countries).
Security and forensic investigation requires consistency of approach and clarity of understanding the technology, vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and known exploits that currently exist. The discipline requires the professional to constantly learn of new forensic techniques, vulnerabilities, exploits and fixes for the many security risks that all ICT users are faced with. The same is true for professors of Information Assurance. As a consultant and former professor, maintaining a currency in the Information Assurance profession is and was paramount, and speaking at various venues around the world (most recently in Long Island in October 2018) also requires this currency if credibility is to be maintained.
What I offer:
- Security advice in both a formal and informal consulting style.
- Informed, entertaining presentations that are security oriented and give the audience something useful to take away that they did not have or know before.
- The topic areas covered in both cases include electronic forensics, cell phone security, cryptography, surveillance, IT security audit, and general IT security (Information Assurance).
Please feel free to make contact if you think that I may be of service.
